Graduate Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets, East London
ASAP start | Until July 2027 | Up to £575 per week

Horizon Teachers are supporting an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London, in their search for an engaging and resourceful Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP.

The school is particularly keen to hear from Russell Group or other leading UK university graduates with existing Teaching Assistant or SEN support experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to develop their classroom experience while supporting pupils across a range of subjects and year groups.

You will work with pupils with Special Educational Needs, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, build confidence and stay engaged. You will also support behaviour management and use your initiative to assist pupils and teachers wherever needed.

What the school are looking for in their Teaching Assistants:

• A degree from a Russell Group or another leading UK university
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Experience working with children of secondary school age
• An interest in progressing into teaching
• Confidence supporting pupils with GCSE Maths and English
• Resilience and the ability to build rapport quickly with pupils
• Confidence working 1:1 and with small groups
• The ability to assist the class teacher with classroom preparation
