Health and Safety Systems and Compliance Manager
Edinburgh | Up to £60,000 plus benefits

An established, major UK construction company is seeking a Health and Safety Systems and Compliance Manager for a newly created Group-level role. Reporting to the Group Director, you will take ownership of developing and improving the Group's SHE management systems, building on existing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 accreditations. Working closely with senior leaders, you will strengthen consistency and help shape SHE strategy across a business committed to sustainability and responsible construction.

Based in Edinburgh, near Edinburgh Airport, the role offers hybrid working with three days in the office or on site and two days working from home.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Systems and Compliance Manager will include:

• Overseeing, developing and continually improving the Group's health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Leading internal audits and system reviews, with a focus on ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and supporting continued certification.
• Ensuring effective processes, written procedures and working practices are embedded consistently across the business.
• Preparing compliance reports, communicating audit findings and identifying opportunities to improve SHE systems and performance.

The successful Health and Safety Systems and Compliance Manager will have:

• Strong SHE management systems and auditing experience, ideally within construction or a heavy operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, with experience of conducting and leading audits and reviewing management systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence colleagues and senior leaders.
• Strong analytical, compliance reporting and IT skills, including experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to take ownership of a new role and drive improvements.
