The Role

As a Teacher of Health & Social Care, you will:

• Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons across KS4 and Post-16.
• Inspire students through innovative and relevant teaching that links learning to real-world healthcare and social care settings.
• Prepare learners for examination success and coursework assessments.
• Foster independent learning, critical thinking and professional understanding.
• Monitor progress effectively and provide meaningful feedback to support achievement.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Create a positive, inclusive and aspirational classroom environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement.
• Support enrichment opportunities and wider school initiatives.
• Play an active role within the wider life of the school community.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience teaching Health & Social Care at KS4 and/or Post-16 level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to motivate, challenge and support learners of all abilities.
• High expectations for student achievement, behaviour and attendance.
• A commitment to raising attainment and securing positive outcomes for every learner.
• A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
