About the job

Arla Foods has created the Arla Driver Academy to ensure we continue to deliver on our promises to customers whilst widening our talent pool. Due to continued growth, we are looking for LGV drivers to join our academy and to be part of our inbound logistics team.

When you enrol on the HGV Driver Academy, you will work a 4 on 2 off rolling shift pattern that will include weekends and bank holidays. Over the 8 month training period (plus 3 months for EPA), you will work towards becoming a fully qualified member of the growing Arla Driver Academy through a blended approach to learning.

Throughout the scheme, you will have the full support and guidance of a mentor, fellow colleagues and a skills coach to help you grow and develop into an outstanding logistics professional. The aim of the Arla Driver Academy is to equip drivers with their Large Goods Vehicle Driving Licence.

Duties for the role will include

• Train towards obtaining your LGV Category C+E license
• Responsible for loading/unloading customers’ milk and transporting it to dairies for processing
• Transhipping milk whilst also maintaining yard and vehicle cleanliness
• Maintain a high standard of dress and personal hygiene
• Maintain good relationships with customers, Arla staff and management
• Represent the company when on customer’s premises or travelling to and from those premises.
• To ensure the company’s high standard of customer service and satisfaction

What you’ll need to be successful in the role?

• Full UK driving licence
• A motivated individual with a “can do” attitude
• Enthusiastic about teaching others, able to find different ways to engage and educate.
• An excellent communicator
• Health & Safety orientated
