Street Cleansing Operative / HGV Driver

Industry: Civil Engineering

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week: 2pm - 10.30pm ( with half an hour unpaid break)

Days: Monday - Friday

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Duties:

Safe operation of plant including left-hand drive road sweepers, working to planned routes and schedules.

Vehicle checks, basic maintenance and reporting defects.

Road sweeping, litter picking and removal of debris.

Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.

The role may also include:

Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.

Weed removal, clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.

gum and graffiti removal

Experience:

Must have full clean HGV / Category C driver’s license and a good awareness of health and safety.

Must be physically fit due to nature of duties.

Must be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative.

Salary: £13.85 per hour worked 2pm - 10.30pm, £18.42 per hour worked 6.30pm - 10.30pm
