Job description

A well-established and growing care provider with over 30 years’ experience in elderly, nursing and dementia care is seeking an experienced Registered Care Home Manager to lead their care home and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, quality and compliance of the service.

The provider has a strong family ethos and is committed to creating warm, welcoming homes where residents’ quality of life, dignity, independence and individual needs are at the heart of the service. 

Managers are given ownership of their homes and are encouraged to develop their service, team and local community relationships.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential or nursing care home setting.
  • Ideally a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with an active NMC PIN.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, compliance, safeguarding and governance.
  • Relevant management qualification such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care, risk management and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a care team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, staff and external professionals.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the home’s staff team, creating a positive, supportive and person-centred culture.
  • Take overall responsibility for the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the home.
  • Ensure residents receive high-quality care that promotes their dignity, independence, choice, rights and wellbeing.
  • Maintain full regulatory compliance, taking a leading role during CQC inspections and implementing action plans where required.
  • Oversee care planning, assessments, reviews, risk management and safeguarding across the service.
  • Manage recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management and staff development.
  • Ensure mandatory training, health and safety and other legislative requirements are consistently met.
  • Manage complaints effectively and maintain strong relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals.
  • Oversee admissions and support the home in maintaining strong occupancy levels.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring the service remains financially sustainable.
  • Promote the home within the local community and encourage meaningful activities and engagement for residents.

Salary
 

  • £60,000 salary
