Health & Safety & Continuous Improvement Coordinator
Location: Shropshire
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

The Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety & Continuous Improvement Supervisor to join an established industrial manufacturing business in Shropshire.
This is a hands-on position within a busy, heavy industrial production environment, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside production teams and dealing with the realities of a demanding manufacturing setting.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for supporting and improving Health & Safety standards across the site, whilst also identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and overall operational performance.
This role would suit someone from a heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, steel, metal processing, fabrication, galvanizing, plating, foundry or similar environment who enjoys being close to the shop floor and making a tangible difference.
Key Responsibilities
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, resilient and confident working in a strong industrial environment.
Ideally, you will have experience within a heavy manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting, rather than coming purely from an office-based Health & Safety or compliance background.
You may currently be working as a:

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and legislation.
Experience carrying out audits, inspections, investigations and corrective actions.
Experience with ISO management systems, particularly 9001, 14001 and/or 45001.
Experience of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
The confidence to challenge unsafe or inefficient working practices.
A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to build strong relationships with production teams.
Good communication and organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of Health & Safety and improvement initiatives.
Experience within steel, galvanizing, metal processing, fabrication, plating, foundry, heavy engineering or a similar industrial environment would be highly advantageous.
