Hydrological Advisor

£32,000 | Perth & Kinross | Permanent | Site-Based

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Hydrological Advisor to join a major infrastructure project in Perth & Kinross.

This is a site-based role supporting the environmental and engineering teams with hydrological advice, water management, monitoring and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hydrological input across design and construction activities.

  • Support flood risk, drainage, catchment and water management assessments.

  • Oversee water quality monitoring, data analysis and reporting.

  • Advise on stormwater, groundwater and pollution prevention measures.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and project requirements.

  • Carry out regular site inspections and support environmental incident investigations.

  • Work closely with engineers, environmental teams, site management and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar environmental or hydrological role within construction or civil engineering.

  • Relevant qualification in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources or similar.

  • Experience in water quality monitoring, drainage and construction-phase water management.

  • Knowledge of flood risk assessments and hydrological modelling.

  • Valid CSCS card.

  • Full UK manual driving licence.

  • Strong communication, reporting and IT skills.
