Job description

Job Title: Income Management Officer

Job Type: Temporary - 6 weeks 

Hours: 34.5 hrs/week (Mon–Thu 8:30am–4:30pm | Fri 8:30am–4:00pm) 1 hour for lunch. 4 days in the office / 1 day Working from home (Either a Tuesday or Thursday)

Pay: £18.74 an hour

Location: Carmarthen

Sunny is looking for a supportive and proactive Income Management Officer to join our client’s team immediately. You will work closely with residents to understand their financial circumstances, providing guidance to help them keep their rent accounts clear and set up realistic payment plans. Additionally, you will play a key role in recovering former resident debt in line with organisational procedures.

Responsibilities: 
Current Resident Debt
  • Maintain up-to-date rent accounts and maintain regular contact with residents.
  • Contact residents via phone or in person following missed or incomplete payments to agree on manageable payment arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on income, expenditure, and budgeting to support effective money management.
  • Confirm all payment agreements in writing and maintain accurate records on internal systems.
Former Resident Debt
  • Monitor, track, and recover outstanding former tenant arrears according to policy.
  • Escalate unrecoverable accounts to external debt collection partners when required.
Operational & General
  • Work towards key performance targets and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal audits and safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Provide cover for team members and assist across the service during peak periods.
About you: 
  • Background as an Income Management Officer (or similar role) within a Housing Association or Local Authority.
  • Strong understanding of housing income management and debt recovery processes.
  • An adaptable professional ready to embrace digital tools and agile working.
  • A valid DBS check prior to starting is desirable
