Internal Sales Representative - Lighting

Location: Beaumont Leys, Leicester (office-based)

Salary: Depending on experience + Discretionary bonus

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Established distributor supplying lighting products to the UK's electrical wholesale market is looking for an enthusiastic Internal Sales Executive to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales or customer service experience who enjoys building strong customer relationships, delivering outstanding service, and contributing directly to business growth. As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you'll play a vital role in converting enquiries into orders and helping us maintain our reputation for excellent service.

The Role

Working closely with both customers and the external sales team, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email, and online channels.
• Providing product information, pricing, and availability updates.
• Preparing accurate and competitive quotations tailored to customer requirements.
• Following up quotations to maximise sales opportunities and secure orders.
• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Booking supplier deliveries into the ERP system.
• Coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure on-time dispatch.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Supporting the external sales team with reporting, lead tracking, and administration.
• Keeping CRM records up to date and maintaining accurate sales activity data.
• Resolving customer queries and issues promptly and professionally.

Essential Requirements

• At least 1-2 years' experience in a sales, customer service, internal sales, or similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience within the lighting, electrical wholesale, or electrical products sector.
• Previous experience using CRM and ERP systems.
