Junior Electrical Engineer in France

Purpose of the Job:

This role is based in France and supports the delivery of electrical engineering design on data centre and mission-critical projects in France and wider European markets.

Working under the guidance of Senior and Principal Engineers, the role develops technical skills in mission-critical electrical design while contributing to calculations, drawings and project documentation.

The successful candidate will:

1. Support the production of electrical designs, calculations and drawings
2. Assist with specifications, schedules and reports
3. Coordinate with the wider design team under supervision
4. Develop knowledge of data centre power systems and French standards
5. Support site visits and construction-stage activities

Job Accountabilities:

Design Support

1. Carry out electrical calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop, load schedules and lighting calculations.
2. Prepare electrical layouts, single-line diagrams and schematics in coordination with BIM / CAD teams.
3. Assist in preparing specifications, equipment schedules and technical reports.
4. Ensure work follows French regulations, company standards and project requirements.

Project Support

1. Support Senior Engineers with coordination between disciplines.
2. Attend design meetings and record actions.
3. Assist with document control and design deliverable tracking.

Technical Support (Construction & Delivery Stage)

1. Assist with responses to construction-stage technical queries and submittal reviews.
2. Attend site visits and commissioning activities to build practical experience.

Professional Development

1. Develop technical knowledge of mission-critical electrical systems.
2. Participate in training and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Technical Knowledge:

Working knowledge of, or a strong interest in developing, the following:

1. Electrical distribution, UPS and standby generation principles.
2. Electrical calculation software (e.g. Caneco, Dialux).
3. AutoCAD / Revit.
4. NF C 15-100 and associated French electrical standards.
5. Data centre and mission-critical design principles (desirable).

Qualifications & Education

1. Dipl me d'Ing nieur or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

1. 0 3 years of relevant experience (graduates and apprentices alternance welcome).
2. Data Centre / mission-critical exposure is an advantage.

1. Fluent French and good working English (written and spoken).
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Willingness to learn and develop within a mission-critical environment.
4. Good communication and teamwork skills.
