Junior Part Time Accountant

Job description

Our client, a successful fashion supplier is looking for a motivated and reliable Junior Part-Time Accountant to join our team in Market Harborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their experience and progress their career within a friendly and supportive working environment.

The Role

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will assist with the day-to-day accounting functions of the business and help ensure that financial records are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Preparing and posting journals
• Supporting month-end processes and management accounts
• Assisting with VAT returns and other financial reporting
• Monitoring outstanding payments and receipts
• Assisting with general bookkeeping duties
• Providing administrative support to the finance team
• Helping with year-end accounts and liaising with external accountants when required

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Part-qualified or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or a similar accounting qualification
• Ideally has some previous experience in an accounts or finance role
• Confident using Excel and comfortable working with accounting software
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Numerate and able to work accurately to deadlines
• Reliable, professional and keen to learn
• Able to work independently while also being a strong team player
