Kitchen Assistant

Location: Loughborough
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am–4:00pm
Contract: Permanent

Are you experienced in catering and looking for a permanent role with sociable daytime hours?

We’re recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join a busy workplace catering team in Loughborough. This is a hands on position where you’ll support with food preparation, cooking, service and maintaining high standards across the kitchen.

With no evening or weekend working, this could be a great opportunity for someone from a catering, café, restaurant or kitchen background looking for a better work-life balance.

What will you be doing?

• Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard

• Following daily menus, recipes and portion control guidelines

• Preparing breakfasts, lunches, snacks, salads and hot dishes

• Supporting food service during busy periods

• Monitoring food quality, freshness and presentation

• Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures

• Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organised

• Working closely with the wider catering team to ensure a smooth service

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience working within a kitchen, catering or food-service environment

• A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification preferred

• An NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery would be advantageous

• Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety and allergen awareness

• Good attention to detail and a commitment to food quality

• The ability to work well as part of a team

• Confidence working in a busy catering environment
