The Opportunity

We are currently working with a leading residential developer to appoint an experienced M&E Commissioning Manager to join their team on a major residential development in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional to take a key role within a high-profile project, overseeing the commissioning and handover of complex M&E systems and ensuring the development is delivered to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project management, construction, design and subcontractor teams, taking ownership of the commissioning process from planning and installation through to testing, completion and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall M&E commissioning strategy for the project.
  • Develop, implement and maintain detailed commissioning programmes and plans.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities across all M&E disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, public health, life safety and associated systems.
  • Work closely with M&E contractors, specialist subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team to ensure systems are commissioned effectively and on programme.
  • Review commissioning procedures, method statements, inspection and test plans and associated documentation.
  • Monitor progress and identify potential commissioning issues or programme risks at an early stage.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST), where applicable.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, statutory requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Attend commissioning meetings, progress meetings and technical workshops as required.
  • Manage the resolution of commissioning defects and outstanding works through to completion.
  • Ensure commissioning records, test certificates, O&M information and handover documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Support the project team through practical completion and final handover.
  • Promote a proactive approach to quality, safety and compliance throughout the commissioning process.

About You

We are looking for an experienced M&E Commissioning Manager with a strong background in the delivery and commissioning of major construction projects.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience in an M&E commissioning management role.
  • Strong experience working on large-scale residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical building services and the commissioning process.
  • Experience managing M&E contractors and specialist commissioning teams.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning procedures, testing and handover requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and programme management skills.
  • The ability to identify issues, drive solutions and maintain progress against key project milestones.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong focus on quality and delivery.

Why Apply?
