The successful candidate will support mechanical and electrical (M&E) operations by maintaining accurate stock records, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring engineers and site teams have the materials required to carry out their work.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within the mechanical and electrical, construction, or building services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the M&E stores, ensuring the area is organised, clean, and maintained safely.
  • Receive, check, and record deliveries of materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Issue materials and equipment to engineers, subcontractors, and site teams as required.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks and inventories.
  • Monitor stock levels and arrange replenishment of materials to prevent shortages and minimise delays.
  • Raise purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to obtain materials, quotations, and delivery updates.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring materials are distributed to the correct locations.
  • Track tools and equipment, maintaining records of items issued, returned, and requiring repair or replacement.
  • Check delivered materials against purchase orders and delivery notes, reporting discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Ensure all materials are stored correctly and in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including delivery notes, stock records, and goods received notes.
  • Assist with cost control by monitoring stock usage, reducing waste, and preventing unnecessary purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience within the M&E, construction, building services, or engineering industry is preferred.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Experience with stock control systems, inventory management, and goods-in/goods-out procedures.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating with suppliers, engineers, subcontractors, and management.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems.
  • A proactive, dependable, and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred, depending on operational requirements.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £40,000 per annum
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • The opportunity to work within an established M&E team.
  • A stable working environment with opportunities to develop your skills and experience.
