Job description

Alliance Personnel are currently recruiting for machine operator to join one of their clients based in Stratford upon Avon.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Sets up and operate extrusion line equipment, such as bars, tubing, and structural shapes. Responsible for ensuring efficient production while maintaining quality standards and safety compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Setup & Operation

  • Select and install die, mandrels, calibrators, in-line press tools, extrusion heads, and haul offs according to size and type of profile
  • Set up and operate extrusion line machinery to production specifications
  • Ensure hopper is kept supplied with correct raw material throughout shift
  • Monitor production parameters and adjust equipment settings as required

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Check surface finish and dimensional checks are within tolerance
  • Ensure all output meets company-imposed standards and customer specifications
  • Complete quality control documentation accurately and on time
  • Flag any defects or inconsistencies immediately

Product Handling & Documentation

  • Remove extrudate from take-off table once through haul-off
  • Pack finished products as required and per specification
  • Fill in and complete appropriate production records
  • Maintain accurate shift documentation and reports

Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Administer lubrication and routine servicing to ensure proper function
  • Report equipment issues or potential problems to supervisor
  • Keep work area clean and organized

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Maintain safe working practices at all times
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

WORKING HOURS

Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience operating extrusion equipment (desirable but not necessary as training will be provided)
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and consistent attendance

Temp to Perm 12 weeks on agency
