Maintenance Manager

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist industrial and process manufacturing business in the appointment of a Maintenance Manager.

This is a key site based leadership position with responsibility for managing a multidisciplinary maintenance team across a technically complex industrial operation. The role will take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, plant reliability, contractor management, maintenance budgets and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong background in industrial, manufacturing or process environments. This is an opportunity to take a lead role within an established operation and make a direct impact on plant availability, maintenance performance and team development.

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager

• Lead, coach and develop the site's mechanical, electrical and multiskilled maintenance team.

• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, PPM, CBM and breakdown response to maximise plant availability.

• Plan and manage maintenance outages, including resource planning, contractor coordination and budget control.

• Manage contractors, critical spares, maintenance budgets and the site's CMMS.

• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• HNC, HND or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or an equivalent time served apprenticeship with relevant management experience.

• Proven experience in a maintenance management role within an industrial, manufacturing or process environment.

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on development, performance and continuous improvement.

• Experience with permit to work systems, safe isolation, CMMS, maintenance budgets and planned outages.

• Strong technical problem solving skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, reliability and compliance.

Experience within a technically complex process environment would be advantageous. NEBOSH General Certificate and knowledge of reliability centred maintenance or root cause analysis techniques would also be beneficial.
