Salary up to £31,000

Monday-Friday  8.45 am – 5 pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Marketing Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a broad and well-rounded marketing career within a business that genuinely values its marketing function.

You will join an established five-person marketing team, giving you the opportunity to work alongside experienced marketing professionals, learn from them and contribute ideas of your own. Rather than being focused on one small area of marketing, you will gain exposure to a wide range of activity and play a genuine role in delivering the company's marketing strategy.

The team works to a structured annual marketing plan, ensuring campaigns, content, events and communications are planned properly and delivered to a consistently high standard. This is an opportunity to develop your skills across digital marketing, content, brand, PR, events, product marketing, research and commercial support while receiving ongoing guidance and development.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of marketing activity, supporting the wider team to promote the business, strengthen brand engagement and generate commercial opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating and managing content for websites, social media and digital communications.
• Supporting the delivery of planned social media and content campaigns across multiple channels.
• Assisting with email marketing campaigns, including content, data management, testing and reporting.
• Supporting sales teams with marketing campaigns and promotional activity.
• Working with technical colleagues to turn complex product or industry information into engaging, customer-friendly content.
• Supporting the development and delivery of marketing campaigns designed to generate awareness, engagement, leads and sales.
• Assisting with PR activity, including editorial content, awards, publications and media opportunities.
• Supporting the planning and delivery of exhibitions, trade shows, events and other promotional activities.
• Helping develop point-of-sale materials, packaging, promotional literature and other marketing collateral.
• Supporting website development and content updates, including involvement in a major website redevelopment project incorporating new digital and AI functionality.
• Assisting with photography and videography projects, including planning shoots, sourcing products and props and coordinating requirements.
• Supporting relationships with brand ambassadors, influencers and external partners.
• Conducting competitor research and market analysis to identify trends, opportunities and areas for development.
• Monitoring and reporting on campaign and digital performance.
• Working with external agencies and suppliers where required.
• Maintaining marketing materials and providing general administrative support to the department.
• Keeping up to date with emerging marketing trends, platforms and technologies.

A Broad Marketing Role

What makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the breadth of exposure you will receive. You could be working on a social campaign one day, helping prepare for a major exhibition the next, developing content from technical information, assisting with a product photography shoot, analysing competitor activity or supporting the sales team with a new campaign.

You will also have the opportunity to become involved in longer-term projects and gain an understanding of how different areas of marketing work together as part of a wider commercial strategy. The intention is to develop you into a well-rounded marketer, rather than simply giving you responsibility for one or two channels.

About You

We are looking for someone who is creative, organised and genuinely interested in developing a career in marketing.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a marketing, marketing support or similar role.
• A marketing qualification or relevant degree would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A creative approach and confidence contributing ideas.
• Good commercial awareness and an interest in understanding what makes customers engage with a brand.
• A proactive, adaptable and positive approach.
• Good IT skills and confidence working with standard marketing and office software.
• A willingness to learn and develop across different areas of marketing.

You don't need to be an expert in every area of marketing. Curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important, as you will have an experienced team around you and access to further external training and professional development where appropriate.
