Maths Teacher

Maths Teacher – Derby (QTS Required)

Location: Derby

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview:

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Maths educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially Maths KS5. Derby academies offer strong departmental networks, digital learning tools, and tailored intervention schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Maths curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby

• Plan, prepare, and assess Maths lessons in line with department policy

• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions for numeracy and exam preparation

• Contribute to Maths department improvement planning

• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching Maths experience in a UK secondary setting

• Is passionate about Mathematics education and student achievement

• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills

• Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
