Mechanical Engineering Trainer – No Teaching Experience Required

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to come off the tools and move into a rewarding training role?

We are recruiting for a well-established and growing engineering training provider in Hull, delivering high-quality apprenticeship and commercial training to some of the region’s leading engineering employers.

You do NOT need any previous teaching or training experience.

This opportunity is specifically suited to experienced engineers who want to use their industry knowledge to train and develop the next generation. Full support will be provided to help you gain the necessary teaching and assessing qualifications.

The role

Based at a specialist engineering training centre in Hull, you will deliver practical and theoretical training to engineering apprentices and commercial learners.

You'll use your real-world engineering experience to help learners develop the skills they need to succeed within industry.

We are looking for experience in:

  • Mechanical planned and reactive maintenance

  • Lathe and milling machine operation

  • Safe use of hand tools

  • Hydraulics and/or pneumatics

  • Engineering Health & Safety practices and procedures

Experience within the chemical/process industry or knowledge of CAD would be advantageous but is not essential.

What you'll need

  • Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification

  • Strong hands-on Mechanical Engineering experience

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • A genuine interest in helping develop the next generation of engineers

Teaching or assessor qualifications are NOT required.
