Mechanical Project Engineer - Water / Wastewater
Location :Wanlip, Leicestershire
 Rate: £450 per day Inside IR35
 Hours: 45 hours/week
 Duration: 6 months +
 
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major water and wastewater infrastructure project in Wanlip, Leicestershire.
You will support the delivery of a significant upgrade to an existing wastewater treatment facility, working alongside the Project Manager, design, procurement and construction teams to ensure mechanical packages are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Author technical scopes of work and review mechanical tender submissions.
·Undertake gap analysis and manage mechanical design RFIs.
·Identify and resolve design and interface issues across mechanical D&B packages.
·Manage design development, Revit models, digital mark-ups and construction redlines.
·Oversee mechanical installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
·Manage supply chain programmes, suppliers and subcontractors.
·Coordinate site investigations, design reviews and hazard studies.
·Support HAZOP, SWIFT and ALM meetings.
·Oversee procurement, factory/site testing and client training.
·Develop and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality records.
·Liaise with site teams to ensure delivery against programme, budget and quality requirements.
·Support subcontract orders and assessment of variations/claims.
·Challenge poor practice, workmanship and quality where required.
 
Essential Experience
·Proven experience delivering major wastewater M&E projects.
·Strong mechanical project engineering background within the water/wastewater sector.
·Experience working with and manipulating Revit models.
·Experience with digital design mark-ups and construction redlining.
·Knowledge of SWIFTs, HAZOPs and ALM relating to mechanical equipment.
·Strong understanding of mechanical installation, commissioning and handover.
·Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and mechanical D&B packages.
·Confident challenging poor practice and quality issues.
·Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
