Mechanical Test Technician

£28,000 - £30,000 + 4 Day Working Week + Every Friday Off + Permanent Position + Benefits + Progression

Are you a mechanically minded Test Technician, Mechanical Fitter or Assembly Technician looking for a permanent Monday-to-Thursday role where you get every Friday off within a company known for their great working environment?

This is a hands-on testing position within an established UK manufacturing business, where you'll inspect and test completed mechanical and electromechanical products, identify faults and make sure equipment meets the required specifications before release to customers.

You'll work within a practical manufacturing environment covering fabrication, machining, welding, painting, electromechanical assembly and testing. The role would suit somebody with experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, testing or manufacturing who is confident using technical drawings and hand tools and wants to develop their technical experience further.

The Role:

• Test finished mechanical and electromechanical products
• Carry out quality, functionality and specification checks
• Identify and diagnose mechanical and basic electromechanical faults
• Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Use hand tools and relevant testing equipment
• Carry out basic adjustments and rework where required
• Record test results and report faults clearly
• Work closely with production, assembly and quality teams

The Person:

• Mechanical assembly, fitting, testing or manufacturing background
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings
• Practical and mechanically minded
• Comfortable using hand tools
• Some fault-finding or testing experience
• Electrical or electromechanical experience would be beneficial but is not essential

The Package:

• £14 -£15 per hour
• 38-hour working week
• Monday to Thursday
• 6:30am to 4:30pm
• Every Friday off
• Three-day weekend every week
• Progression
• Training
• Permanent, long-term position
• Established UK manufacturing environment
