Contract Supervisor – UK-Wide Projects
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum + benefits
Location: Kettering-based, with UK-wide travel
We are working with an established specialist contractor delivering projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Contract Supervisor to support the successful delivery of a range of site-based contracts.
This is a varied role combining site supervision, contract coordination and office-based responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee site teams and contractors, liaise with customers, monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The role will involve regular travel and working away from home during contracts. When not working on site, you will be expected to work from the company's head office in Kettering, working closely with the wider team. Candidates who are within a commutable distance of Kettering and can travel independently are preferred.
The Role
As Contract Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of contracts, ensuring that works are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising contracts and site activities from mobilisation through to completion.
- Managing site staff, subcontractors and contractors to ensure effective delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinating with internal teams and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitoring progress against programme, providing updates to management and identifying potential issues.
- Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales.
- Maintaining accurate site records, documentation and contract information.
- Providing practical and technical guidance to site teams where required.
- Supporting the development and implementation of safe systems of work and working methods.
- Assisting with general contract administration and reporting as required.
About You We are ideally looking for someone with previous experience in a supervisory, contract management or project delivery role, ideally within a technical, construction, engineering, utilities or industrial environment.
More importantly, you will be organised, practical and confident managing people and projects. Strong communication skills are important, as the role involves regular interaction with customers, contractors, colleagues and senior management.
You should have:
- Previous experience supervising or managing contracts, projects or site operations.
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Experience managing site teams, contractors or subcontractors.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and make decisions in a site environment.
- Good IT and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain project and site documentation.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required.
Desirable The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience within the water, utilities, construction, engineering or industrial sectors.
- Relevant industry qualifications or training.
- SSSTS or similar site supervision qualification.
- EUSR certification.
- Telehandler qualification.
- Experience working on customer sites or within regulated environments.
