Part-Time Administrator:
Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £26,000–£27,000 FTE, pro rata for 22.5 hours
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
The National Allotment Society (NAS) is looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Administrator to join our small Head Office team.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the office, membership administration and the wider work of the Society. You'll also be one of the first points of contact for members, so excellent customer service and communication skills are important.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to telephone and email enquiries, providing helpful information and directing specialist queries where appropriate.
- Support membership administration, maintaining accurate records and updating databases and website information.
- Process correspondence, post and routine documentation.
- Assist with orders, invoices, goods despatch, deliveries and courier collections.
- Maintain office supplies, literature and other materials.
- Support the organisation of shows, events, meetings and occasional NAS events.
- Greet visitors and help maintain a professional and welcoming Head Office.
- Provide general administrative support across the organisation and help ensure the office runs efficiently.
About You
- Previous experience in an administration or customer service role.
- Organised, accurate and attentive to detail, with a confident and friendly telephone manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases and general office systems.
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and remain calm when busy.
- Reliable, flexible and willing to support colleagues where needed.
- Experience within a membership or voluntary sector organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
What We Offer
- £26,000–£27,000 FTE salary, pro rata for 22.5 hours per week.
- 20 days' annual leave plus 8 public/statutory holidays, all pro rata.
