Part-Time Legal PA / Conveyancing Assistant (Temporary)

Burgess Hill | Part-Time | Immediate Start | 1-2 Month Assignment
£15 per hour

We are delighted to be recruiting for a highly organised and professional Legal PA / Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy and friendly legal team in Burgess Hill on a temporary basis for an initial 1-2 month assignment.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting solicitors, conveyancers or legal professionals within a residential property or conveyancing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring transactions progress smoothly, providing both PA and administrative support while maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy, confidentiality and client service.

As part of a close-knit team, you'll also need to be dog friendly, as office dogs are regular visitors!

Working Hours

• 3 full days per week or 4 shorter days per week
• Tuesday is a mandatory working day
• Office hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am - 5:00pm Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Providing PA support to fee earners and conveyancing professionals
• Preparing and issuing legal documentation and correspondence
• Opening new client files and carrying out compliance checks
• Drafting and preparing sales packs and conveyancing documentation
• Managing diaries, scheduling appointments and arranging meetings
• Handling post-completion administration and Land Registry submissions
• Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents and mortgage lenders
• Monitoring transaction progress and following up on outstanding matters
• Maintaining accurate client records and case management systems
• Providing general administrative support to the wider legal team

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Legal PA, Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Administrator
• Strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process
• Excellent document production and administrative skills
• Confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems
• Strong communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
• Able to prioritise a busy workload and work to deadlines
• Discreet and professional when handling confidential information
• Comfortable learning new systems and processes
