Pay: £170–£230 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Part-Time | Temporary (Long-Term)
Working Pattern: Monday (Full Day), Tuesday (Full Day) & Wednesday Morning (2.5 Days Per Week)
Start Date: 26th August 2026
End Date: 19th March 2027 (subject to ongoing)

Part-Time Year 1/2 Teacher Job in Leicester | KS1 Teaching Opportunity

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and highly regarded primary school in Newtown Linford, Leicester, for an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team from August 2026 until March 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and committed Primary Teacher seeking a part-time teaching rolewith consistency, autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a supportive school community.

The successful candidate will teach a mixed Year 1/2 class for 2.5 days per week and will take full classroom responsibility, including planning, preparation, assessment and parent communication where required.

The Role

As the Year 1/2 Teacher, you will:

• Teach a mixed Year 1/2 Key Stage 1 class
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, creative lessons
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
• Work closely with colleagues and parents to support pupil development
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and wellbeing
• Carry out all usual classroom teacher responsibilities

We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Recent experience teaching in UK primary schools
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• Confident planning and delivering high-quality lessons independently
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Please note: This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) due to the level of classroom responsibility.
