Payroll Specialist

Location: Leicestershire - fully office based
Salary: Circa £40,000
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time with flexibility.

We're recruiting a standalone Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of an in-house payroll function within a PE-backed business going through significant growth.

The Role:

• Take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, managing multiple payrolls across the business.
• Process both monthly and weekly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
• Manage payroll calculations, input and processing, maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.
• Take responsibility for the existing payroll process and help ensure it remains effective as the business grows.
• Support payroll requirements arising from business growth and organisational change.
• Resolve payroll queries and ensure relevant payroll deadlines and requirements are met.
• Work independently as the business’s dedicated payroll specialist, while working closely with the wider finance team.

What We're Looking For:

You'll need to be a confident, experienced payroller who is comfortable working completely standalone and taking ownership of the payroll function without a Payroll Manager above you.

An AAT qualification or broader accounts experience would be beneficial, as there may initially be scope to support the finance team. However, as the business grows, this position is expected to become a purely payroll-focused role.
