The Opportunity
As a People Partner, you will work closely with managers and stakeholders, providing expert advice, coaching, and support across the full employee lifecycle. You'll combine strong employment law knowledge with a practical, people-focused approach to help managers make effective and informed decisions.
This is a varied role offering exposure to employee relations, policy development, organisational change, talent management, employee experience, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Partnering
- Partner with managers to develop their people management capability.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on people-related matters.
- Support managers with attendance, performance, conduct, wellbeing, and workplace relationship issues.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to understand business needs and deliver effective people solutions.
Employee Relations
- Manage and support a wide range of employee relations cases including attendance, performance, grievance, disciplinary and conduct matters.
- Coach managers through complex people issues and support early resolution wherever possible.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies and best practice.
- Support employment tribunals, ACAS matters and other external proceedings where required.
Policy, Change & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and implementation of people policies, procedures and guidance.
- Analyse workforce data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to people projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement across people processes and employee experience.
Diversity, Inclusion & Employee Experience
- Champion fair and inclusive practices across the organisation.
- Support equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Contribute to employee engagement activities and initiatives.
- Challenge practices that may impact fairness, inclusion or employee wellbeing.
Talent & Development
- Support talent management and succession planning activities.
- Provide coaching and career development guidance.
- Contribute to recruitment, assessment and selection processes.
- Support leadership and management development initiatives.
About You
You'll be a proactive HR professional with strong employee relations experience and the confidence to build effective working relationships at all levels.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within a HR Business Partner, People Partner or Senior HR Advisor role.
- Strong employee relations experience including disciplinary, grievance, performance and attendance management.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience coaching and developing managers.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using HR systems and analysing people data.
