Cherry Professional is delighted to partner with a busy and well-established accountancy firm in Leicester is looking to appoint an experienced Practice Manager to play a pivotal role in the next phase of the firm’s growth. This is a senior, operational leadership position where you’ll ensure work is planned, allocated and delivered efficiently across a team of around 55 staff, while maintaining excellent service levels and client satisfaction.

The role As Practice Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of the operation—creating structure, improving performance and ensuring the firm delivers consistently high standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Resource planning & workflow allocation across a multi-disciplinary team (circa 55 people)
• Monitoring capacity, utilisation and productivity to ensure teams are working effectively
• Tracking delivery against deadlines and service standards, escalating and resolving bottlenecks
• Implementing and refining processes to improve efficiency, consistency and quality
• Working closely with Partners/Directors to support operational delivery of the firm’s growth plans
• Monitoring and improving client satisfaction, acting on feedback and spotting risks early
• Supporting team leaders with performance, development and engagement
• Overseeing day-to-day practice operations and helping embed a strong “client-first” culture

What we’re looking for We’re open-minded on background, but you’ll likely bring:

• Proven experience in practice operations / practice management within an accountancy firm (or closely related professional services environment)
• Strong understanding of workflow management, resourcing and delivery in a deadline-driven setting
• Confidence leading and influencing a sizeable team, with a calm and structured approach
• Excellent stakeholder management skills—able to work with Partners, managers and clients
• A continuous improvement mindset: someone who enjoys building processes that scale
