ATA Recruitment is looking for an experienced 360 Recruitment Consultant to join our permanent Maintenance Engineering team, with responsibility for developing and growing our presence across the South East.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious recruiter to take ownership of a well-supported desk, combining new business development with an existing portfolio of opportunities. You’ll be provided with a wealth of sales data from our database, as well as leads generated by Consultants already operating within the sector, giving you a strong platform from which to build your client base and develop new business.

You’ll also inherit a number of key local accounts with established relationships and ongoing recruitment requirements. Alongside these, you’ll have the opportunity to support our national PSL accounts, giving you access to a broader range of clients and vacancies and allowing you to build your market presence across the South East and beyond.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys the commercial side of recruitment and is confident building relationships, generating new business and delivering permanent recruitment solutions. You’ll have the autonomy to shape your desk and make your own decisions, while having the backing of an established team and experienced leadership.

You’ll report into the Director of ATA, who has over 25 years of experience within the business and  will provide the support, coaching and direction needed to help you maximise the opportunity in front of you.

The Role and About You

As a Principal Recruitment Consultant, you’ll be responsible for growing your desk across the South East, balancing business development with the management and expansion of existing accounts. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and developing long-term relationships with new and existing clients across the South East
• Taking ownership of a portfolio of inherited local accounts and maximising their recruitment potential
• Supporting and developing opportunities through our national PSL accounts
• Using our existing sales data and warm leads to identify and convert new business opportunities
• Developing a strong candidate network across the Maintenance Engineering market through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals and direct sourcing
• Managing the full 360 recruitment process, from business development through to successful placement
• Providing a consultative recruitment service that adds genuine value to clients and candidates
• Using your market knowledge to identify new opportunities and strategically grow your desk
• Building a reputation within your market and becoming a trusted recruitment partner to your clients

We’re looking for an experienced recruiter who is commercially minded, ambitious and ready to take greater ownership of their career. You’ll bring:

• A proven track record in a 360 recruitment role, ideally within engineering, manufacturing or a related technical sector
• Demonstrable experience of winning new business and developing client relationships
• The confidence and commercial ability to sell permanent recruitment solutions
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage credibly with clients and candidates
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to business development
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A genuine desire to build and grow your own desk
• Ambition to progress into a leadership position in the future
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
