The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join an established and highly regarded main contractor specialising in industrial, commercial and design & build construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to take full responsibility for the delivery of a £18 million industrial warehouse development in Leicester, incorporating an enhanced base build and internal fit-out works.

Our client has an established reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects and is seeking a commercially aware, driven and experienced Senior Project Manager who can lead the project from pre-construction through to practical completion.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering industrial, logistics or large-scale commercial developments for a reputable main contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of an £18m industrial warehouse scheme, ensuring programme, budget, quality and safety objectives are achieved.
• Manage the project from pre-construction and design coordination through to construction, commissioning and handover.
• Develop, implement and monitor detailed construction programmes, identifying critical activities and mitigating potential delays.
• Lead and coordinate site management teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.
• Oversee the delivery of structural, envelope, M&E, enhanced base build and fit-out packages.
• Work closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets, variations, procurement and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, building regulations and quality standards.
• Chair project progress meetings, monitor subcontractor performance and resolve technical or operational issues.
• Manage project risks, drive programme efficiencies and ensure successful practical completion and handover.

Experience & Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Senior Project Manager or experienced Project Manager for a recognised main contractor.
• Strong background delivering industrial warehouses, logistics facilities, distribution centres or large-scale design & build projects.
• Experience managing construction projects valued between £10m and £30m+.
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, programming, procurement and commercial management.
• Experience coordinating design teams, subcontractors and specialist packages.
• Strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to take full ownership of a project and drive delivery against demanding programmes.
• Relevant construction qualifications such as HNC, HND or Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications preferred.
