  • Monitor progress, productivity and quality throughout the project.
  • Attend and lead project meetings, progress meetings and coordination meetings as required.
  • Liaise with the client, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and potential delays.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant health and safety legislation, project procedures and site requirements.
  • Monitor project costs and assist with commercial management where required.
  • Review drawings, specifications, programmes and technical information.
  • Ensure appropriate commissioning, testing and handover procedures are completed.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience working as an M&E Project Manager within the construction or building services sector.
  • Strong experience delivering M&E refurbishment projects, ideally within hotels, leisure, hospitality or similarly complex occupied environments.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Previous experience managing subcontractors and multiple M&E trades.
  • Experience coordinating M&E works alongside other construction disciplines.
  • Excellent programme management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a construction environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant project management/reporting systems.

Qualifications & Certifications

The following qualifications/certifications would be highly desirable:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • CSCS card appropriate to the role.
  • Relevant M&E / Building Services qualification or degree.
  • HNC/HND or degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • Relevant professional membership, such as CIBSE, CIOB or IET, would be advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a confident and experienced M&E Project Manager who can take ownership of the project and effectively manage the delivery of complex refurbishment works.

You will need to be commercially and technically aware, highly organised and comfortable working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams. Experience working within a live hotel, hospitality or leisure environment would be particularly beneficial.
