  • Lead the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001, ensuring legal compliance and effective environmental controls.
  • Plan and manage internal, external, certification, customer and supplier audits.
  • Oversee non-conformance management, customer complaints, CAPA, 8D investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure effective product traceability, document control, calibration and quality record management.
  • Lead site-wide Health & Safety activities, including risk assessments, COSHH, incident investigations and safe systems of work.
  • Manage contractor safety, employee training and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Monitor QHSE performance, produce management reports and contribute to management reviews.
  • Support aerospace and defence customer requirements, including AQAP, AS9102 First Article Inspection and supplier quality standards.
  • Work alongside production teams to improve process assurance, inspection controls and manufacturing quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a proactive approach to quality, environmental responsibility and workplace safety.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Quality or QHSE management role within aerospace, defence, precision engineering or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Experience managing QMS audits, certification bodies, customer audits and corrective action programmes.
  • Good understanding of NCR management, CAPA, 8D, root-cause analysis and corrective action verification.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally involving machining, composites, tooling, assembly or complex engineered products.
  • Ability to influence at all levels, challenge constructively and translate compliance requirements into practical shop-floor processes.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
  • Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection, AQAP and NADCAP requirements.

  • Experience developing and embedding environmental management systems.

Personal Attributes

  • Confident communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • A strong sense of ownership, accountability and professionalism.
  • A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement.
