Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire
Salary: £14.50–£15.50 per hour (proposed, subject to confirmation)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Shift-based, including weekends and sleep-ins

Quick Summary of the Role

RJS Resourcing is working with an established care provider looking to recruit experienced and qualified Residential Support Workers for a new children's residential home in Swadlincote.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new service from the beginning, helping to establish a positive, nurturing environment where young people feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

We are particularly interested in candidates who already hold their Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification and have previous experience supporting young people within a residential setting.

The Role

You will work alongside the wider care team to provide consistent, high-quality support, helping young people develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing safe, nurturing and child-centred care.

• Supporting young people with daily routines, education and activities.

• Building positive, trusting relationships.

• Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.

• Maintaining accurate care records and following individual care plans.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.

• Supporting safeguarding procedures and maintaining a safe home environment.

Key Requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) – essential.

• Previous experience working within a children's residential home.

• Good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care.

• A compassionate, resilient and reliable approach.

• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.

• Full UK driving licence desirable.

• Eligibility to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

• Must already have unrestricted right to work in the UK.
