Quality Controller – Night Shift

Croydon, CR0 | £29,000 per annum | Sunday–Wednesday, 22:00–08:00

Are you experienced in Quality Control, Quality Assurance or product inspection? Are you looking for a permanent night-shift role within a fast-paced fresh produce environment?

We are looking for a Quality Controller to join an established business based in Croydon. You will work closely with the Quality Manager and Production team to ensure products meet the required quality standards and help minimise waste and customer complaints.

What you'll be doing

Your main responsibility will be checking the quality of incoming fruit and finished products. You'll make sure stock meets the required standards and identify any issues before products reach customers.

You'll also:

• Carry out quality checks on incoming and finished products.
• Monitor fruit quality, ripeness, stock rotation and waste.
• Check packed products and crates against required specifications.
• Identify and report quality issues and help resolve them with the Production team.
• Monitor packing standards and help reduce customer complaints.
• Identify where production staff may need additional training.
• Complete quality records, labels and rejection notifications where required.
• Support fruit purchasing at the market and drive a company van when required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, product inspection or a similar role.

Experience in food, FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing or fresh produce would be ideal, but full product-specific training will be provided.

You'll need:

• The confidence to identify and challenge quality issues.
• Good communication and numerical skills.
• A practical, organised and methodical approach.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work permanent night shifts.

Desirable experience

Experience with fresh produce, fruit checking, ripening, food production, stock rotation or waste control would be an advantage.

A full UK driving licence and confidence driving a van would also be beneficial. Forklift experience or a licence would be an advantage.
