Job description
Our client, a leading organisation in the motorsport and automotive sector, is seeking a Quality Engineer for a fixed-term opportunity supporting the delivery of a strategic Quality Management Office roadmap. The role will contribute to product development, product life cycle activity, event-related issue control and the continuous improvement of unique, world-leading motorsport products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver continuous improvement activity through the primary workstreams identified within the Quality Management Office strategic roadmap
- Support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System, including audits and training
- Provide quality engineering support to Engineering and Technology colleagues across product development and product life cycle activities
- Support the management of standard operating protocols to promote operational and product robustness
- Assist with the deployment of containments and resolutions for issues identified during motorsport events
- Process event-related inputs and outputs concerning product and issue control
- Maintain Engineering and Technology KPIs and support objective analysis to drive proactive action
- Manage supplier quality assurance activities and maintain constructive supplier relationships
- Some travel within the UK and internationally is required.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in quality engineering and supplier quality engineering within an appropriate industry
- Understanding of product engineering from specification through to product life cycle management
- Knowledge of engineering processes used to support product development
- Ability to use structured problem-solving tools and techniques to deliver robust solutions
- Understanding of risk management, including the identification of pragmatic mitigation measures
- Experience analysing complex data, identifying trends and using findings to support proactive action
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems and experience supporting structured audits of standard operating procedures
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive, analytical and adaptable approach
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint or similar database and collaboration systems
- Knowledge of Power BI and data analysis tools
- Awareness of Microsoft Project would be beneficial
- Understanding of supplier quality management and data-driven issue resolution
- Ability to communicate clear, objective solutions at all levels of an organisation
Qualifications and Additional Requirements:
- A relevant engineering qualification, such as a BEng, would be desirable
- Relevant product or quality/supplier engineering experience
- Motorsport engineering or motorsport operational experience would be advantageous
- A current UK driving licence is required
- A genuine passion for motorsport and pride in contributing to a world-leading product
