Quality Inspector

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established client operating within the Precision Engineering sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with a strong background in precision engineering and hands-on experience programming CMMs from CAD models.

The Role:

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that precision-engineered components meet the required quality standards and customer specifications. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams, using a range of inspection equipment and techniques to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting precision-engineered components to drawing, specification and customer requirements.

• Programming and operating CMMs using CAD models.

• Carrying out dimensional inspection using a range of conventional and specialist metrology equipment.

• Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T.

• Identifying and reporting non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.

• Producing accurate inspection reports and maintaining quality documentation.

• Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

• Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience programming CMMs from CAD models.

• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Good knowledge of dimensional inspection and measurement techniques.

• A high level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality.

• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a wider engineering team.

Experience with relevant CMM software and knowledge of GD&T would be highly advantageous.
