Quantity Surveyor – Healthcare / Commercial
Location: Leicestershire (office-based)
Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE + package (scope for more senior candidates)

Our client is a well-established, growing building contractor based in Leicestershire. They deliver projects across the healthcare, education and commercial sectors, including specialist healthcare schemes for clients nationwide. They have a loyal client base and a high level of repeat business.

The role
Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial side of a varied portfolio of projects. You’ll be someone who knows where every pound has gone, and can explain it calmly when asked. The role is pitched at intermediate level, with flexibility for more senior candidates with the right experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing the commercial side of multiple projects from pre-start to final account
• Procuring subcontract packages and placing orders
• Preparing monthly valuations and applications for payment
• Valuing subcontractor applications and issuing payment notices
• Managing variations, change control and cost reporting
• Producing cost-value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts
• Agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors
• Working closely with Contracts Managers and site teams

What we’re looking for

• QS experience with a main contractor
• Healthcare and/or commercial project experience is a strong advantage
• Good working knowledge of JCT contracts
• Confident with valuations, CVRs, variations and final accounts
• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Organised, commercially aware and a good communicator
• Full UK driving licence
