Quantity Surveyor

Job description

As part of continued expansion, our client, a leading privately owned main contractor, is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor working at their offices in Lutterworth, South Leicestershire, LE17.

Working on a wide range of nationwide D&B and pre-designed refurbishment and new build projects within the healthcare, education, and commercial sector, you will be responsible for multiple projects at any one time from inception to completion.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor will include:

• Re-tendering and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitoring material and labour spend against budget
• Compiling monthly CVRs
• Compiling monthly client valuations ensuring maximisation of cash flow
• Reviewing and certifying subcontractor applications
• Negotiation and settlement of client and subcontract final accounts
• Assessing and identification of risks
• Submission and agreement of extension of time/ loss and expense claims
• Change management

Skills and Experience required for the Quantity Surveyor role:

• Circa 5 years main contractor QS/PQS experience
• Competent in use of JCT/NEC contracts
• Good understanding of financial reporting processes
• Degree qualified (preferable not essential)
• Excellent time management and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• MS Office (Excel, Project)
• Full clean driving licence (attending sites as needed)
• Ability to pass enhanced DBS (obtained as part of onboarding)

Salary: Up to £55,000 dep on experience + Company car/allowance + Bens
