Building Surveyor - Housing
Rate: £30.39 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Rolling Contract

Location: North West Leicestershire
Carrington West is recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a Local Authority's Responsive Repairs, Voids and Minor Works Team on an initial rolling contract.
This is a hands-on surveying position working across the Council's domestic housing portfolio, with a particular focus on responsive repairs, damp and mould, disrepair, stock condition and defect diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:
·Carry out detailed property inspections, diagnosing building defects and specifying appropriate remedial works.
·Lead on damp and mould investigations, ensuring cases are accurately diagnosed and progressed through to resolution.
·Undertake measured and stock condition surveys and assist with maintaining asset and lifecycle information.
·Investigate responsive repair requests from initial report through to completion.
·Support housing disrepair cases, ensuring outstanding works are completed within required standards and timescales.
·Prepare scopes of work, specifications, orders and associated contract documentation.
·Monitor contractors, quality, progress and expenditure across repair and improvement works.
·Ensure works comply with relevant Building Regulations, Planning, CDM and other statutory requirements.
·Liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
·Provide technical advice across the Council's housing stock and associated property projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will have previous Building Surveying experience with a strong understanding of domestic/residential property defects and repairs. Experience within social housing or a Local Authority environment would be particularly beneficial, alongside knowledge of damp and mould, disrepair and contractor management.
