About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rough Sleeper Tenancy Sustainment Support Worker to join a busy Housing & Regeneration team. This role focuses on supporting individuals with a history of rough sleeping to successfully move into and sustain independent accommodation, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for long-term tenancy success.

Working in a hybrid environment, you will manage a caseload of vulnerable service users and provide practical, person-centred support throughout their journey from homelessness to independent living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clients with a history of rough sleeping.
  • Assess individual support needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Support clients in viewing suitable accommodation and assist during tenancy sign-up processes.
  • Help service users establish their new homes, including sourcing furniture, arranging utilities, and accessing grants where available.
  • Provide guidance on budgeting, independent living skills, and tenancy responsibilities.
  • Deliver advice and support relating to welfare benefits, education, employment, and access to support services.
  • Conduct regular welfare visits and ongoing tenancy sustainment support.
  • Work collaboratively with landlords, housing providers, and partner agencies to resolve tenancy-related issues.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable client groups, particularly those facing homelessness, housing instability, or complex support needs.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and the ability to support clients with benefit-related enquiries and applications.
  • Ability to engage effectively with challenging clients and individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with service users
