Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire, seeking a caring, experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from 2nd November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN professional to provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils, helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and make positive academic, social and emotional progress.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with a range of additional and special educational needs
Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support across the primary phase
Helping pupils access learning and develop greater independence
Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and the wider school team
Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Delivering personalised interventions and supporting individual learning plans
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encouraging their confidence
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, LSP or SEN support worker
Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs within a primary school
Confident providing 1:1 and small-group support
Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with children
Understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proactive, adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
A genuine commitment to supporting children to achieve their potential
Relevant TA/SEN qualifications or equivalent school-based experience are desirable
