Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity?

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEND school in the Nelson area. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting ASAP, offering an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs and make a positive difference to their education and development.

• Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

• Daily Rate: £85 – £95 per day, depending on experience

About the SEND Teaching Assistant Role

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND

• Support pupils to access learning and participate positively in lessons

• Assist pupils with their social, emotional and communication development

• Support students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties

• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to meet individual learning needs

• Follow individual education plans and support personalised learning activities

• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement

• Assist with classroom activities and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and support pupils' overall development

The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant/SEND qualification, or have relevant experience

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND

• Be confident providing one-to-one and small-group support

• Have a patient, calm and positive approach

• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Be committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of all pupils

• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people

• Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history

• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration

• Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
