Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architectural Technician to join our team based at our East Midlands head office in Nottingham.

The Role

Are you an experienced Architectural Technician with strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness?

Joining our team as Senior Architectural Technician, you will take ownership of architectural matters across your allocated developments, ensuring information is accurate, commercially considered and delivered in line with programme requirements.

Key duties and requirements

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Assisting in the production or procurement of comprehensive feasibility studies and technical investigations for inclusion in Land Appraisals.
  • Procuring, appointing and managing external consultants, ensuring information is delivered on time and reviewed for value engineering opportunities.
  • Preparing planning application packs, Design and Access Statements, composite plans, legal and title overlays and constraints plans.
  • Acting as the Architectural point of contact for assigned developments and responding to site-based enquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and managing planning condition trackers, coordinating information for condition discharge and communicating progress to the wider team.
  • Providing Architectural information for NHBC or Premier Guarantee submissions and advising on the planning and Architectural position at key development meetings.
  • Managing working partnerships with Housing Associations, third-party providers, sub-contractors and management companies in line with Group policies and processes.
  • Preparing construction standard plans, conveyance plans, estate layout plans and management company plans, managing amendments throughout the development.
  • Supporting the delivery of site start and development programmes, maintaining development expenditure and ensuring budgets and timescales are met.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful as our Senior Architectural Technician, you will have a relevant qualification or broad experience in Architectural Technology, together with a broad understanding of the architectural aspects of the housebuilding industry.

To be considered for this role you must also possess;

  • A relevant qualification or broad experience in Architectural Technology.
  • Broad experience within the house building industry and a strong understanding of its Architectural requirements.
  • Broad technical knowledge and strong commercial awareness.
  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant software packages, such as Revit, Buzzsaw and PDS.
  • Good financial and legal understanding.
  • The ability to manage consultants, review technical information and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Broad awareness of codes of practice that impact on technical matters, including Planning Policy, Building Regulations, NHBC requirements and HSE guidance.
  • Broad knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations.
