Job Description:

NGED Senior Authorised Person – Long Term Contract – NGED patch – Monday to Friday – ASAP start

I’m working with a contractor delivering works across the NGED network. They are looking for an experienced SAP to provide operational cover and support the safe delivery of projects across their area of work.

The role will involve:

• Acting as SAP on the NGED network within your level of authorisation.
• Planning and carrying out HV switching, isolations, earthing and restoration.
• Reviewing outage requirements and preparing switching schedules.
• Establishing and maintaining Safety from the System.
• Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents in line with NGED procedures.
• Supporting site teams during cable, substation, new connections and asset replacement works as required.
• Coordinating with Network Control, project managers and delivery teams ahead of planned works.
• Providing technical guidance to site teams and resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Supporting planned shutdowns and occasional out-of-hours switching where required.

Experience required:

• Current or previous NGED SAP authorisation at 11kV. 33kV authorisations would be advantageous.
• Strong practical experience of HV switching on distribution networks.
• Experience preparing switching schedules and issuing safety documents.
• Good knowledge of NGED safety rules and operational procedures.
• The ability to work closely with Network Control and multiple site teams.

Contract details:

• NGED patch
• 12 months contract
• Monday to Friday, with weekend work when required
• Day rate, outside IR35
• ASAP start
