Job title: Senior BIM/CAD Technician (Fire Alarm & Security)
Location: Central London/Hybrid
Salary: To 52k Basic + benefits (private healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays)
Job type: Permanent, full time, office-based
Summary Lead drawing and BIM coordination for an established independent fire alarm, security and data cabling company in Central London. This is a senior role, with ownership of quality and standards and a team of three CAD/BIM engineers to mentor.
The company Our client is an independent specialist in fire alarm, security and structured data cabling, with ISO 9001 and LPS 1014 approvals. They design, supply, install and maintain integrated systems for public and private sector clients, and they are known for consistent, quality delivery.
The role You will produce and coordinate AutoCAD and Revit/BIM drawings across fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder and structured cabling projects. You will lead BIM coordination, set and uphold drawing and model QA standards, and develop templates, families and blocks. You will report to the Technical Manager.
Key duties - Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings, including large-scale fire alarm, CCTV, access control and intruder layouts
- Develop Revit/BIM models where the project requires them
- Create containment and interface drawings, schematics, riser diagrams and equipment layouts
- Prepare builderswork and interface information for other trades
- Lead BIM coordination, resolve clashes and liaise with project teams, consultants and contractors
- Carry out model and drawing QA checks
- Maintain drawing and BIM/CAD standards, templates, families and blocks
- Mentor the three CAD/BIM engineers
Essential requirements - Significant experience as a Senior CAD/BIM Technician in fire alarm, security or technical services
- Strong AutoCAD skills, including large-scale layouts, schematics and riser diagrams
- Good understanding of drawing standards and QA processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable - Revit/BIM modelling and coordination
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers
