Are you an experienced Business Development or Commercial professional with a strong background in the utilities or infrastructure sector?

Do you have experience leading teams, managing major accounts and securing complex contracts within a regulated or technical environment?

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading multi-utility businesses, delivering essential infrastructure solutions across electricity, gas, heat, water, wastewater and fibre. Due to continued growth across Scotland, they are looking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth, develop key client relationships and support a high-performing Business Development team.

In this senior position, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering the regional business development strategy. You'll identify high-value opportunities, manage major project accounts, support complex bids and negotiations, and work closely with design, engineering, estimating and delivery teams to develop commercially strong solutions.

You'll also lead and mentor a team of Business Development Managers, helping to drive performance, remove barriers to growth and develop long-term customer relationships.

The Role:

• Develop and deliver a strategic business development plan across the Southeast and East Midlands
• Identify emerging market trends, new sectors and high-value commercial opportunities
• Lead, manage and mentor a team of Business Development Managers
• Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key clients and strategic partners
• Manage major project accounts and support the delivery of high-value opportunities
• Lead commercial discussions, pricing strategies, contract negotiations and deal structures
• Support complex bids and tenders, working closely with design, engineering, estimating and delivery teams
• Drive continuous improvement across business development processes and ways of working
• Represent the business at client meetings, industry events and other strategic forums

The Person:

• Proven experience in a senior Business Development, Commercial or Sales leadership position
• Strong background within utilities, infrastructure, construction or a related technical sector
• Experience managing and developing a Business Development or Sales team
• Strong understanding of the utilities sector, ideally across areas such as electricity, gas, heat, water, wastewater or fibre
