
Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer / Engineering Geologist

A great opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer or Engineering Geologist to step into a senior role, leading site investigations and delivering technically strong, high-quality projects across the UK.
The Role:
You’ll take ownership of projects from initial design through to delivery — managing site investigations, mentoring junior staff, and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, manage, and supervise ground investigations
Cost projects and coordinate subcontractors
Attend site to oversee investigations and assessments
Produce interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports
Undertake and review GQRA (human health, ground gas, controlled waters)
Supervise foundations, earthworks, remediation, and validation works
Prepare Health & Safety documentation and ensure compliance
Lead site meetings and liaise with clients
Mentor and support junior team members
Requirements:
Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ UK experience in contaminated land and ground investigation
Strong understanding of UK regulatory guidance
Experience delivering geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects
Knowledge of GQRA and foundation assessment
Coal mining investigation/remediation experience (desirable)
Experience with Openground, AutoCAD, or QGIS (desirable)
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Working towards Chartered status (or already Chartered)
Full UK driving licence
