Job description

Are you working in HR Administration or an entry-level HR Advisory position and looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely develop your career?

I'm recruiting for an established, independently owned manufacturing business based in the Melton Mowbray area, which is looking to strengthen its HR team with an enthusiastic and people-focused HR professional.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business with an excellent reputation for its employee culture, staff wellbeing and long-term investment in its people.

With a workforce of approximately 600 employees, the business has a particularly stable workforce and a strong focus on creating a positive working environment.

Working closely with the HR Director, you will provide hands-on HR support across the production and operational workforce.

A key part of your role will involve supporting employee relations matters, working closely with production managers to investigate concerns, gather evidence and ensure matters are handled fairly and consistently.

You will be involved in the full process, from initial investigations through to supporting disciplinary meetings and communicating outcomes.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day HR support to employees and operational managers.

  • Supporting and managing employee relations cases, including conduct, capability and disciplinary matters.

  • Investigating workplace concerns, gathering evidence and preparing case documentation.

  • Working alongside the HR Director to determine appropriate outcomes and next steps.

  • Supporting disciplinary meetings, issuing correspondence and maintaining accurate employee records.

  • Advising managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice.

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle administration.

  • Maintaining HR systems and ensuring employee information is accurate and up to date.

  • Getting involved in wider HR projects covering employee engagement, wellbeing, learning and development and HR systems.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with someone who has some previous experience within an HR administration or HR advisory position and is keen to take the next step in their career.

You'll  have:

  • Previous experience within an HR Administration or HR Advisory role.

  • An understanding of employee relations and disciplinary processes.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with people at all levels.

  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.

  • A proactive approach and willingness to get involved in different areas of HR.

  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within HR.

CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.

If you're not currently CIPD qualified, the business is willing to invest in you and support you through your qualification.

Training & Career Progression

One of the most attractive aspects of this opportunity is the commitment to your development.

You'll receive approximately 12 weeks of initial training, followed by a structured three-year progression pathway.

The business is happy to fund your CIPD qualification if required, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical HR knowledge, gain valuable experience and progress your career.

This is an opportunity to join a business that wants to invest in the right person rather than simply fill a vacancy.

The Business & Benefits

You'll be joining a successful, independently owned manufacturing business with an established workforce and a genuinely positive working culture.

The business places real importance on employee wellbeing, engagement and retention, with an excellent range of benefits and facilities.

You'll also enjoy:

  • Excellent employee benefits package.

  • Funded CIPD training and professional development.

  • Structured career progression.

  • Supportive HR leadership.

  • Employee wellbeing initiatives and activities.

  • Fantastic on-site facilities.

  • Free on-site parking.

  • Staff rewards, gifts and additional perks.

  • A stable working environment with a strong employee culture.

Interested?

If you're currently working in HR Administration or HR Advisory and looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, gain your CIPD qualification and build a long-term career within a supportive manufacturing business, I'd love to hear from you.
