Shields Talent is delighted to be partnering exclusively with an established and growing IT consultancy and managed services business to recruit a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their expanding team. Their team is currently around 30 people and they provide IT support, consultancy and professional services to a diverse client base across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and forward-thinking IT professional to take ownership of complex technical work, influence the adoption of new technologies and make a meaningful contribution to a growing business.
You will work alongside IT support consultants, managers and partners, providing high-quality second- and third-line support across a broad range of platforms. Job Details
- Senior IT Support Engineer
- Salary - £40k (with salary reviews that recognise your contribution and progress)
- Location - Motherwell
- Work conditions - Monday to Friday, 9.00 am–5.00 pm (35 hours per week)
- Travel - Onsite visits required with clients across the central belt

Candidate Requirements
- At least four years’ experience in IT support
- At least one year’s experience with Azure AD and one year’s experience with Microsoft Intune
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, SharePoint and a broad range of IT platforms
- Experience of Azure cloud hosting would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, VoIP telecommunications, virtual platforms or other emerging technologies would be beneficial
- A genuine passion for IT and a proactive interest in technological innovation
- A confident, analytical and solutions-focused approach to complex issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues
- The ability to manage priorities, take ownership and deliver consistently high standards of service
- A collaborative outlook and a willingness to support the development of the wider team
Education & Qualifications
- Ideally, a 2:1 degree or above; however, applications are also welcome from candidates with strong academic qualifications and a demonstrably high level of IT capability
Candidate Responsibilities
- Deliver responsive, professional second- and third-line support across a wide range of client environments
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, communicating clearly with clients and colleagues throughout
- Contribute to the design, testing and continual improvement of client and internal technology solutions
- Identify relevant emerging technologies and share practical recommendations with the wider team
- Support the successful implementation of new solutions that can add value for clients
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business and contribute to a positive, knowledge-sharing culture
